Hunter Water

As a State Owned Corporation (SOC) Hunter Water provides drinking water, wastewater, recycled water and some stormwater services to a population of almost 600,000 people in homes and businesses across the Lower Hunter in NSW, Australia. Hunter Water was the first SOC to be proclaimed within New South Wales pursuant to the State Owned Corporations Act 1989.

Hunter Water fundamentally believe in and commit to inclusion and diversity, valuing individual’s unique capabilities, backgrounds, experiences and characteristics.

Hunter Water depend on these diverse perspectives to drive innovation and collaboration, to deliver the best outcome for customers and communities. It is this diversity of perspectives that will enable Hunter Water to meet the challenges of the future.

It’s clear from our discussions to date that Hunter Water strive to create an inclusive environment where there is genuine equality of opportunity. They understand that in order to be resilient, adaptive and innovative, it’s imperative to seek out a range of perspectives from people who have diverse backgrounds and experiences.

And it’s that approach that positions Hunter Water as already meeting much of the ‘Champion’ criteria. But where there are areas to develop, we look forward to working with the Hunter Walker Team to recognise the vales and benefits of an age diverse workforce.

And across all parts of Hunter Water, they are celebrating Champion Age Diversity Day….we hear that they’ve also been enjoying Champion cupcakes today!
